Abstract
We investigate the efficacy of nonlinearity compensation for single-channel 14 Gbaud PDM-QAM16 over an uncompensated SMF link without Raman amplification. Nonlinear compensation increased the maximum reach from 1440 km to 2400 km for an FEC limit of 3Ã10-3.
