Abstract :
Analogue Microcell is a cell based semi-custom design technique for analogue and mixed function circuits which is fully compatible with a digital semi-custom technique using 2.5¿m CMOS technology. A library of cells has been designed, including operational amplifiers, comparators, switches and an 8-bit DAC, which enable semi-custom design of switched capacitor filters, A-D and D-A conversion systems, interface circuitry and many other functions together with logic on the same chip. A dual channel switched capacitor filter design is presented to illustrate the technique. The technique is aimed at mixed function applications, enabling peripheral analogue circuitry to be included on-chip, making possible total system integration.
