Abstract
Minimisation of the white noise level in second order switched capacitor filters is discussed. Proper selection of free design parameters is shown to be essential. An analytical optimisation procedure is given. This leads to a practical software tool that permits the designer to explore the different parameters in an expert way. Also the computer time required is restricted to a minimum. A 20 kHz notch filter with a signal-to-noise ratio of over 90 dB was fabricated to show the program´s feasibility.
