Abstract
The Familiar Instruction Set Computer project (FISC) investigates the needs for both topological structures and computer-aided-design tools to implement, on silicon, computers defined by their instruction set. The first FISC chip implements a datapath for P-CODE execution (P-CODE is a target-language for PASCAL): its 16-bit internal architecture consists in three datapaths for addresses, data and instruction flow. Its architecture and layout are presented and discussed.
