Abstract :
A public satellite mobile network (PSMN) will be established in future China. For the limitation of the payload resource, the onboard processor can only work in hybrid mode (transparent plus processing-switching mode). This paper proposes a network architecture model which is suitable to the PSMN with hybrid onboard processor. The proposed model is compatible with 3GPP/UMTS specifications. The onboard processor model, new entities, new interfaces and corresponding protocol models are also described in detail.
