Abstract :
Compared with wired networks, wireless networks have many different characteristics. The packet loss differentiation mechanism of TCP for heterogeneous networks has the important influence to the stability of wireless networks. In the hybrid wired/wireless network, a fuzzy packet loss differentiation algorithm based on Ack-Timeout times ratio (ATFDA) is proposed by analyzing the probabilistic statistical characteristics of packet pair´s Ack-Timeout times ratio samples. From the results of simulation, this algorithm has well distinguishing effect in different packet loss pattern and performs better than current main TCP variants.
