  • Abstract
Resource reservation gains many attentions because it is the basic mechanism for network providing quality of service (QoS) control. Based on the term definition and cause analysis of hidden resource phenomenon, the solutions aiming at the problem of hidden resource are summarized in this paper. An adjustment scheme of resource reservation rate based on arrival rate estimation is put forward and simulations are done to validate its effectiveness and to evaluate its performance. As a kind of extension to RSVP, the scheme can be combined with the reservation refresh methods based on soft-state to solve the hidden resource problem effectively and to improve the network utilization.
