Abstract
Notice of Retraction
After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.
The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org.
This article studies unequal error protection (UEP) property of low density parity check (LDPC) codes by Gaussian approximation (GA) and presents an efficient scheme for LDPC coded multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) system. In the scheme, important bits with large degrees are transmitted in transmission diversity (TD) mode streams and bits with small degrees are mapped to the spatial multiplexing (SM) mode streams. By offering more protection to the important bits, this scheme provide significant throughput gain compared with random mapping method in which the bits are randomly mapped to the streams without taking the degree into account. The analysis results offer the optimal mapping fractions between the bits with different degrees and the transmission blocks. The optimal mapping results are almost the same as the fractions that this scheme suggested. Simulation results are also provided for initial assessment of the scheme.
