Abstract
High peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmit signal is a major drawback of wavelet packet modulation (WPM). The article presents a new method to reduce PAPR by Linear Programming (LP) to select the optimal wavelet packet basis. Numerical and simulation results show the signal modulated by the selected wavelet packet basis has the optimal PAPR values with given wavelet packet tree space. In addition, this method has more efficiency without any degradation in bit error rate (BER) performance for the same bandwidth occupancy.
