Abstract
The water environment vicissitude of Yangtze River Basin was induced by the climate vicissitude especially during the cold period. Warm humid water environment in Yangtze River advanced the development of an economic society. The southward people´s migration led to the development of this area, turning it into a cultural and economic centre after Tang-Song dynasty. The development of human society has great effects on the water environment, and triggers a series of environmental problems.
