Abstract
This paper discusses the water environment vicissitude in the middle reaches of Yangtze River from four stages in history. Taking several typical cities Jingzhou, Wuhan, Yichang as examples, the author analyzes the impacts of water environment vicissitude on urban spatial position, structure, function, rise, fall and distribution in the middle reaches of Yangtze River.
