The Research and Implement of DEM Interpolation Method Based on Voronoi K Order Adjacency

Abstract :
Interpolation is the core problem of Digital Elevation Model ¿DEM¿. A concept of Voronoi K order adjacency is introduced in this paper, and a DEM interpolation method based on this concept is described. This method selects Voronoi k order adjacency points for reference points and determines weighting functions with both Euclid distance and Voronoi distance. The experiments have shown that this method satisfied the precision requirement. Compared with traditional method, the method based on Voronoi K order adjacency improves on the selection of adjacent reference points and is of the better time efficiency.
