Abstract
Social and economic sustainable development is restricted by shortage of water resources in northern China, environmental geological problems which induced by groundwater over-extraction. In this essay, an assessment method of groundwater allowable withdrawal evaluation is discussed, take the Manzhuang water source for example, on the basis of the exploitation of pumping test methods for calculating allowable withdrawal of Manzhuang water sources, the result is 14747 m3/d, unsteady flow method is used of predicting the water level drawdown of dry season which have no more than 70 m, the problems of contesting water is avoided between exploitation and utilization of poor-quality water and local high-quality groundwater.
