Abstract
Piles are widely used in civil engineering, due to the complicated interaction between piles and soil, the insitu test and analytical analysis show some limitations. So it is necessary to find some other methods to study the interaction of piles. The software FLAC3D is used to build the numerical calculation model for the pile soil model, the purpose of the simulation is to compare the different response of soil and pile when the types of pile contain the normal pile and expanded bottom pile. During the simulation, the load at the top of pile are the same for both the normal pile and expanded bottom pile, to analyze the different response of soil and pile with different head loads, showing that, the expanded bottom pile has more advantages over the normal pile, for it need smaller amount of engineering cost.
