Abstract
Low-power laser irradiation (LPLI), a non-damage physical therapy, which has been used clinically for decades of years, was shown to promote cell proliferation and prevent apoptosis. Apoptosis is a contributing pathophysiological mechanism of Alzheimer´s disease (AD). However, whether LPLI could prevent apoptosis in AD model is not clear. In this study, we demonstrated for the first time that LPLI could inhibit apoptosis induced by Aβ via preventing ASK1/JNK pathway. These findings raise the possibility of LPLI as a promising physical therapy for neuron-degeneration disease.
