Abstract
Sensor networks have revolutionized data gathering capabilities and information processing in diverse environments. In this paper we address two fundamental issues; localization and tracking, using a hybrid sensor network. Simulation results using our proposed algorithm show that it is robust in localization and tracking of targets in indoor environments. We have also demonstrated that by using a small set of mobile nodes we can extend the coverage of the sensor grid over a large area and therefore reduce many of the typical problems associated with static sensor networks.
