Abstract :
This paper developed a virtual assembly system with force feedback. With secondary development of commercial CAD system, CAD assembly model was transformed into virtual assembly model, by loading which, the virtual assembly scene was set up. Then virtual assembly operation and navigation method based on force-feedback was explored and the separation problem between haptic proxy and parts under constraint motion was solved by presented increment-along-constraint driven method. Spring model was employed to estimated feedback force, with which the operator can feel the existence of assembly constraints.
