Abstract
This paper presents a view-based texture rendering algorithm based on topography scenes, which can efficiently store and compress multi-resolution texture data. It selects the appropriate texture resolutions according to rendering domain associated with the size of the view region, as well as the importance of view scale. And does not need to have all levels of texture details initialized which must be transferred to the memory in MIP Mapping technology. So the amount of scheduled texture data and the dispatch between internal and external memory in the process of real-time simulation are effectively reduced, and the texture mapping and scheduling problem in reconstruction of large-scale 3D scenes with massive texture data is solved. The experimental results indicate that the algorithm ensures the fidelity of scenes while reduces the amount of texture rendering at the same time, and improves the computational efficiency.
