  • Abstract
Particle filtering is one of the most important and common tracking algorithms in WSN tracking system. The calculation amount of the particle filter is large while the calculation ability and energy power of the WSN nodes are very limited. In some circumstances, in order to improve the real-time ability and decrease the energy consumed of the tracking system, it is appropriate to reduce particles number of particle filter in tracking process. An effectual algorithm for reducing particles number is proposed in this paper. It have been proved in emulation that the tracking accuracy can transit to a new state with better accuracy and stability by using this algorithm than some other algorithms like random particles selecting algorithm.
