Abstract

A method of monitoring the traffic of IP multicast streaming, such as IPTV, by using IPFIX/PSAMP is presented. IP multicast streaming services have recently become popular network services. However, a method of IP multicast traffic monitoring has not been established. IPFIX/PSAMP architecture has been proposed for quality monitoring, but no commercial router supports IPFIX/PSAMP. Therefore, we propose a monitoring system composed of Probes and Web-Consoles on general-purpose PCs for implementation in real networks as soon as possible. In this paper, we report the feasibility of and evaluate the system.
