  • Abstract
    A typical deformable object assembly operation is researched, i.e., a deformable peg into a rigid hole assembly as an example is presented in the paper. The deformation field and geometrical, kinetic and dynamic constraint conditions of a deformable peg is analyzed. For simplification analysis, here the elastic long peg can be considered as a beam. Based on the hypothesis of the material, mechanism and deformation geometric characteristic of the peg, the peg-in-hole assembly strategy is analyzed and validated. These analysis results can be the basis for the further deformation assembly researches.
