  • Abstract
A new approach for numerical modelling of microwave susceptors used as an active element in packaging of microwaveable food products were investigated. The accuracy of the method was validated in the case of estimation of reflected, absorbed, and transmitted power for the susceptor in free space, where the exact solution is known. Further, the amount of power absorbed by the susceptor was calculated for the case of the susceptor attached to the cylinder made of water. The influence of the position and size of the cylinder was considered. The amount of power absorbed by the susceptor and the cylinder were calculated.
