  • Abstract
Part-oriented method is proposed in this paper in view that most of the modern enterprises products are stereotyped and they have a high degree of serialization, generalization and standardization. A large proportion of parts have essentially the same structures with different sizes. Through the ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) data sources, classes which could be called by SQL (Structured Query Language) were defined in Visual C++, which makes it possible for the client Pro/ENGINEER application programs to access the server database. Studies on definition, design and automatic generation system for standard parts libraries were carried out. The user menu and interface were designed in the form of dynamic link library to integrate with Pro/ENGINEER platform with secondary development tool Pro/toolkit based on part-oriented method. Standard parts of injection moulds were taken as examples to develop a parameterized standard parts library successfully.
