The EPMA techniques is employed to check their chemical composition. Luminescence and scintillation properties were also evaluated. The Ce1%: Gd<sub>1</sub>Y<sub>2</sub>Al<sub>2</sub>Ga<sub>3</sub>O<sub>12</sub> sample showed the highest light yield of around 40 thinspace000 photon/MeV. The scintillation decay time was 46.6 ns(63%) and 157 ns(37%).</div></div>
