Abstract
This paper presents a blood pump control algorithm based on maintaining the constant differential pressure (dp) between the pump inlet and outlet. The algorithm produces not only pulsatile blood flow synchronized with cardiac ejection, which promotes recovery effort of cardiac muscle. According to the relationship of blood pump flow rate, the pump speed and dp, the computer simulations are conduct to test the performance of the algorithm. The simulation results show that the aortic pressure pulsates in the range of 80mmHg to 100mmHg and flow rate arrives to 11L/min. The proposed approach leads to rapid adaptation of the cardiac output to physiological levels, while avoiding suction in rational range.
