Abstract :
In this paper, an approach for constructing noise model for traffic noise analysis is proposed. Interactive 3D graphics techniques are adopted for constructing roads, barriers and receivers on a given terrain model. A generic template based approach is adopted which embed both graphics and noise parameters in the models constructed. The noise model generated can be used with existing traffic noise estimation software for detailed analysis. The constructed 3D model and the noise levels computed with the noise model can be used in a virtual reality system to provide an immersive experience of the landscape constructed.
