Abstract
We investigated the temperature response of the twin core photonic crystal fiber (TC-PCF). An in-line Mach-Zehnder interferometer can be effectively configured by coupling a section of TC-PCF between two SMFs. The temperature sensitivity was measured by monitoring the temperature-induced spectral fringe shift. The fringe pattern was found to shift to the shorter wavelength region as the temperature was increased. The temperature sensitivity was also shown to have dependence on the input polarization.
