Abstract
In this paper, 1) we produce a walking simulator using virtual reality, 2) compare young and elderly subjects, and 3) examine its usage. The system consists of a PC, a Wii Fit balance Wii board, a steering wheel, and a cage. The subjects can walk around the virtual town by stepping on the board. From November 2009 to January 2010, 5 senior citizens (3 male, 2 female) and 9 young people (9 male) used this system.
