Abstract :
This paper argues a system design based on safety effects to afford inconvenience affairs. Inconvenience due to safety design needs to be accepted by users to ensure safety. Users tend to take risk with ease due to the unavailability in spite of the fact that wrong usages tend to result in an accident. Notification about hazards assists to understand risks correctly but it can not always contribute to accept the unavailability. A system design that users can afford the unavailability would be useful to prevent violating safety regulations such as operation manuals. This paper describes a design methodology to afford inconvenience affairs performing case studies of labor accidents.
