Abstract
Owing to those unfavorable factors such as poor natural conditions, high altitude and vast territorial spread in Tibet, it is hard to locate water-rich areas accurately just with traditional hydrogeological survey methods, but remote sensing can do it. Using processed remote sensing Landsat TM/ETM imagery, this paper extracts geomorphology and geology information related to hydrogeology, discusses hydrogeological resources information of Quaternary Period and basement area, and finally analyzes primary water area, taking two areas in Tibet for example. The research is expected to indicate direction for further hydrogeological investigation in Tibetan area, and to provide feasible means for hydrogeological investigation in other places.
