  • Abstract
The purpose of this study was to show how the degree of brightness illusion of a subjective contour figure influences the recognition performance of a represented figure. Two experiments were carried out on human-computer interaction. As a result of these experiments, we suggested it was possible that the brightness illusion of the test field causes interference between a subjective contour line and the inducing figures. To prevent the deterioration of recognition performance of illusory figures during a glance, it is necessary to produce a minimum brightness illusion.
