Abstract
This paper proposes an estimation method of the transition time of piecewise linear (PWL) systems by using wavelet analysis. A definition of detectability of transitions is proposed in advance and its necessary and sufficient condition is presented which gives an insight how to estimate an transition time. The proposing method does not utilize the parameters of the plant model but utilizes a characteristic pattern of the wavelet transformation of the output signal around the transition time.
