Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to identify the specific pedagogical roles for computer technology in language learning. By examining the theoretical perspectives on the use of computer in language learning, we present the computer´s position and application within college English teaching reform. Moreover, combining with the empirical studies in literature, we find that, only when teachers and students make some modifications to adapt the computer and web-based learning mode, the reform of using computer technology about the college English teaching could be successful in China.
