Abstract :
This paper presents a 60 GHz low power ASK transmitter capable of 1.5 Gbit/s operation. The design is based on 90 nm CMOS technology and consumes 31 mW. The chip includes a 30 GHz VCO, a matched resistive coupler, a frequency doubler, ASK modulator and a low power amplifier. An on-board Yagi-Uda antenna is used with the ASK transmitter with excellent patterns at 60 GHz.
