Abstract
This article firstly studies the software structure of the multi-layer information system, which is consisted of database layer, spatial data engine layer, GIS layer, and application layer. Followed by an analysis of the functional demand of the system, the article concludes with an exploration of the key technologies of the system and ways to put it into practice. The core spatial object of the information system of coal mine is geological bodies and roadways. The article puts much emphasis on the research into the modeling of the geological bodies described by multi-source data, the expression of 3D roadways by roadway axis arc and roadway sections, and the presentation of ways to establish the topological relation between the 3D models of roadways and geological models.
