Abstract
This paper presents a CPW-fed antenna with a semicircle placed on two rectangular patches for WLAN application. This Antenna satisfies the licensed frequency band (5.15 to 5.95 GHz) having return loss lower than -10 dB. The antenna is designed on a substrate with dielectric constant εr=4.4. The size of the antenna is 16.2mm×16.1mm×1.2mm. The effects of shape, length, size, and location of feeding point, substrate and their thickness have been evaluated. Obtained 2D radiation patterns with elevation, VSWR, return loss, gain, and antenna efficiency are discussed. The simulation results of this antenna are analyzed by using Method of Moment (MoM) from IE3D software.
