Abstract
The immense competitive pressure by global competition in the machine tool industry forces the companies to enlarge their efforts in respect to innovations, which is bond with the production of complex and high-tech products. In the meantime the shortening of a product´s life cycle leads to the condition that companies are to focus on their service offers in order to ensure an advantage in competition. On this account, the service offers must be planned and optimised on a long-term basis through skilful distribution of orders on the existing capacities. The suppliers are thereby taken into increasing responsibilities so that world wide not only the on site service performance is to be ensured, but also the availability of spare parts for the life-cycle of the end product must be guaranteed. In this article on one hand, the developed reference service scenarios for the suitable cooperation in a global Service supply chains will be introduced and on the other hand the portability of the SCOR model on to a service supply chain will be proven.
