Abstract
Considering overhead power lines with double circuit, operating with a disconnected circuit, the active circuit crossed by load current becomes a source of electric and magnetic fields, which, by appropriate coupling, induces voltages and currents forced by the passive circuit, according to the grounding state. The electromagnetic phenomena present the risk of electrical shock and aggressions at tissue levels. To avoid these phenomena, the authors propose in this paper specific preventive measures that are required to be taken in order to protect the staff working on maintenance and/or repairing overhead electrical power lines. The paper also presents the construction and operation of a portable device that was designed and tested experimentally.
