Abstract
This paper reviews the impact of distributed generation (DG) penetration on power system stability. It discusses the dynamic impact of stand-alone or grid-connected DG or hybrid power systems on the transient and small signal stability of power systems. Modeling and simulation techniques and software required for such studies and applicability of intelligent techniques in assessing transient and small signal stability of power systems with DG penetration are also discussed.
