Abstract
Industrial electric power systems such as factories (steel, petro chemistry and paper pulp) which have customer´s power generating plants have very complicated system structures. Most of loads in industrial electric power systems consist of induction motors and synchronous motors. In addition, these systems are usually interconnected with utilities. Therefore, voltage instability phenomena caused by motor loads and power oscillations with variety of system disturbance have inherent problem. It is important to clarify those phenomena for countermeasures and the design of the protection coordination. This paper presents a model of the synchronous motor constructed on MATLAB/Simulink. Moreover, the stability evaluation with voltage sag has been verified by using the constructed synchronous motor model.
