Abstract
A Multiple Model approach (MM) combined with a special type of constrained optimal control, Model Predictive Control (MPC), is proposed to deal with the voltage control problem in distribution networks. The Multiple Model approach is adopted as it allows representing the system being controlled by taking into account a number of operating points. Model predictive control is adopted as it allows optimizing the voltage at the point of common coupling. Simulations are carried out to validate this method.
