Abstract
Based on meeting the river eco-environment water demand, this paper establishes the rationality evaluation model for the city water intake and gives the computational method of reasonability threshold. The analyzed and calculated results of Nanning(a city in Guangxi, China) indicated that the city water intake from Yongjiang river is rational; as the water demand continues to increase, it is estimated that the water intake from the river will approach the critical state by year 2025 without taking any measure. Thus the demonstration and construction of second water source need to be done to ensure the water demand of the city economic development.
