Abstract
Acetic acid has a strong inhibitory effect on bacteria growth, substract utilization and hydrogen production. Separation of acetic acid from fermentative bio-hydrogen production broth is helpful for releasing the product feedback inhibition and promoting the hydrogen producing capacity. In order to find out an efficient separation method of acetic acid from fermentation broth, the actual tests were conducted by a commercial electrodialysis and ideal separation effects were obtained, which confirmed the feasibility of separating acetic acid from the fermentation broth by electrodialysis with bipolar membrane.
