  • Abstract
    To solve the problem of the flashover risk assessment of contaminated insulator, a GIS-based region power grid polluted flashover precaution system is proposed in this paper. This system consists of two prediction models that the first is used to estimate contamination condition of insulator and the second is employed to forecast the probability of the flashover in complex weather conditions. The outdoor insulation level of operation insulator can be real-time mastered by using this system, which achieve the accurate flashover prediction and precaution. Then a technical support platform based on GIS is supplied in order to timely avoid the region power grid flashover accident. It is of important practical significance and application value for power grid disaster prevention and reduction.
