Abstract
This paper focuses on complete and systematic application of discrete-event simulation in Distribution Center (DC) design procedure. A framework of simulation application in DC design is given on basis of extensive literature review. Six main steps of DC design and specific aspects for each step in which simulation is always helpful are involved in this framework. Four kinds of functions of simulation for DC design are concluded. Six simulation cases are presented for an explicit illustration for systematic use of simulation in different steps of DC design.
