Abstract
Measuring control delay at signalized intersections accurately is very important for designing and operating traffic control systems. At present, we usually maintain control delay through observing on the spot or model calculating. However, the control delays obtained by these methods are not accurately and in real time. In the recent years, the development of vehicle infrastructure integration system provides us a truly integrated transportation system. In this system, every moving vehicle equipped with onboard equipment is also a moving sensor, which can collect traffic information and transmit traffic information to road-side equipments in real time. Using this information, this paper advances a new method of control delay measuring based on vehicle infrastructure integration system and also confirm the effectiveness of the measuring method through traffic simulation.
