Abstract
The methane production of the distiller´s grains via lactic acid fermentation (shorter for the fermentation residue) was investigated, and the variable trend of pH values, alkali concentration and volatile fatty acids were examined. The results showed that: (1)The methane production rate of the fermentation residue was 146.32 mL/gTS, about equally with that of wheat straw and sunflower plate, which comparatively adapt to anaerobic digestion. (2)The trend of alkali concentration and pH values was just opposite to that of volatile fatty acids(VFA) concentration. An attempt of controling pH values by controling alkali concentration achieveing controling volatile fatty acids(VFA) concentration was feasible, to avoid excessive of volatile fatty acids and to insure successfully of anaerobic digestion.
