  • Abstract
    Process planning is the key to manufacturing systems, status quo of the assembly process planning is analyzed, and the business requirements of assembly process planning system based on 3D product model including assembly modeling, process documents management and assembly simulation are investigated. Then the technique routing is proposed: industry requirements model, key technology research, system development and industry application demonstration. The three-layer architecture is established with the database of product, process, plant, resource as the base, on the basis the system is developed and implemented in an assembly enterprise, consequently, the result shows that the process efficiency is improved and the process planning cycle is reduced.
