Abstract
As more and more photovoltaic (PV) panels have been installed into power networks, PV systems need to be accurately modeled for power system analysis. The detailed model formed by power electronic devices is very inefficient in computation, so it is not suitable for large-scale and long period network level simulation. In the literature, photovoltaic system is simplified by a controlled current source to increase simulation speed. In this paper, a simplified model of the PV system is proposed based on a controlled voltage source, which provides an accurate model with more system signals available than the controlled current source model, so it leaves more opportunities for control development.
