  • Abstract
According to the automation theory of control, the dynamic characteristic of the novel piezoelectric drilling dynamometer based on the torsional effect is investigated in the paper. The mathematical model of the drilling dynamometer has been built, and then the formula of the amplitude error is deduced. It is pointed out that the drilling dynamometer can not only measure the elastic force, but also sense a part of inertia force. Finally, by the impact response method the natural frequency of the drilling dynamometer is obtained, and the results show that its natural frequency is greater than 3.95 kHz, which already satisfies the design requirements.
